We call all be too much of anything... too loud, too confident, too skinny, too fearful. The often all-too-hard challenge is to be vulberable enough to 'fess up to what is causing us to be too much of anything and value ourselves worthy of being loved in spite of our perceived flaws.

Nicely done, I agree & follow these rules, specifically the cell phone bit. I think that is a common courtesy whether on a date or spending time with anyone.

I once picked up a book at a library sale about his mother. Admittedly I picked it up because it was old and has a pretty picture of a victorian lady on it LOL, but then I started reading it. She was one cool lady! And such a hard life too...almost read like a Little Women/Little Dorritt story...but throw in some royalty and some war drama lol.
Too bad his dad was a bit of a loser, but you can't have everything. Winston definitely got his steely will from his dear mama...I'll have to dig up the book again and give it another read :) Thanks for reminding me.

Its hard to even find good Christian Men. Most of the guys that I know who are at our church and are between the ages of 24 to 35 are about 15 years old maturity wise. They all work at Subway and play videogames with every free moment that they have. How could they ever hope to make good husbands or fathers.

I so completely agree. A woman of intelligence and integrity is more appealing and more valuable that a pretty lady. Beauty is defined by the person within. It always shines through. I once met a VERY handsome man, the more he talked, the uglier he became.

I LOVE wrinkles around the eyes. Spence has them and I find them so beautiful. And for the record, no, you don't need medication lol. I happen to find older men more and more attractive the older I get myself. I think God probably programs us that way so that it's not just the 20somethings and pretty ones that get to find love :) How sad would that be?

That's a good comparison for the dreaded daily tasks of life! I have about 10 frogs I need to go eat today. I have always heard that there are ways to make frogs taste good - so I guess in the metaphorical comparison, that would mean finding an optimistic way to approach the tasks. So, I like the new look of your blog :) I guess since more people are going to be going there regularly you decided to spruce it up LOL :) I love it. I changed mine too, but mostly because I get bored with it's look and change it up every few months lol.

I'm glad Jeff found a wife too. I almost feel like I know him just from reading your blog and talking to you, and I'm very glad to hear you're not into the hair extensions anymore. You're lovely.

Ok, I had to comment on this :) I've only been married two years it's true, but I still have a few insights.
First of all...he doesn't get a housekeeper for free lol. I have a job now, but I didn't for about a year, and he was the sole breadwinner and was supporting me and the things I wanted. Having a wife is expensive! lol. I did cook and clean and pay the bills, but he worked from 7-5 at a usually boring job that gave him little satisfaction, and only had the weekends to do the things he wanted. I didn't realize how morally discouraging it is for him not to feel proud of his work. I'm working now and it's a bit harder to find the time and energy to do the cleaning, but I have a greater appreciation for his position now, and I'm realizing how spoiled I was to get to stay home all day and do whatever I wanted.

He also does part of the housekeeping now and is very gracious about it. I asked him recently what his favorite part of being married was, and he kind of surprised me by saying it was having a partner, someone who had your back and made life a little easier.
He explained it better than that, but it still got me thinking. He's in a harsh environment all day long, five days a week. What can I do as his wife to make his home a safe and restful environment? Even now that I'm working I take the time to make his lunch to take with, cook him dinner when I get home, keep his clothes clean and the dishes washed. the house doesn't have to be spotless, but I do want it to be a place he can be proud to call home and feel comfortable when he does get to be at home.

Sorry, super long comment lol, but I feel like he's not the only one getting a lot out of this marriage, and I feel so blessed and thought I'd share :)

lol...ewww...what a quote, huh? I agree with this wholeheartedly. When I am dreading doing something, I always get it out of the way so I can move on and it doesn't way me down.
